The Studentenwerk Göttingen is a German student union with around 180 employees, dedicated to support students through a variety of services, including catering for around 28,000 students in its canteens every day. The campus catering comprises two main canteens, an interim canteen and eight cafeterias, which together serve between 5,500 and 6,000 meals a day. However, high sickness rates and staff shortages have made efficient and smooth operations difficult. Guido Forthmann, Head of Campus Catering, describes the challenges and positive changes brought about by the introduction of the AI-based solution from VisioLab.
